Join the Newborn Sepsis Society
Bringing professional expertise and lived experience together
The Newborn Sepsis Society is an international, non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing neonatal sepsis prevention, care, education and research.
We welcome healthcare professionals, researchers and families from around the world. Whether you care for newborns, investigate neonatal sepsis or have experienced its impact on your family, your perspective can help shape our work.
Who can join?
Membership is open to:
- Nurses and neonatal nurse practitioners, whose expertise is central to recognising infection, delivering care and supporting families.
- Physicians, including neonatologists, paediatricians and other clinicians involved in newborn care.
- Researchers, including those working in epidemiology, microbiology, immunology and related fields.
- Midwives, allied health professionals and students interested in neonatal health.
- Parents and family members of babies affected by neonatal sepsis, including bereaved parents.
- Patient and public involvement (PPI) organisations and parent advocacy groups.
We welcome members at every career stage and from all healthcare settings.
Why join?
Help build an international community committed to improving outcomes for newborns affected by sepsis. Membership offers opportunities to connect, learn, share experiences and contribute to the Society’s priorities.
As our Society develops, we aim to provide:
- Access to member-only educational, quality improvement, research and publication resources.
- On-demand recordings of educational webinars.
- A community forum for exchanging ideas and experiences.
- Opportunities to contribute to collaborative projects and Society activities.
- Opportunities to seek nomination to our standing committees: Education; Guidelines and Publications; Quality Improvement and Research; Communication and Networking; and Membership Leadership.
Available resources and opportunities will be announced on this website as they are introduced.
Families are partners in our work
We are involving parents and PPI organisations from the beginning of the Society’s development. Their experiences can help us identify meaningful research questions, improve communication and ensure that our work reflects what matters to babies and families.
Parents do not need medical or research knowledge to join. You can choose how much you wish to participate, and sharing your personal story is always optional.
Membership is currently free
As a new Society building our structure and community, we currently offer membership free of charge. Any future changes to membership fees will be communicated in advance.
Help shape our Society
We welcome your ideas, professional expertise and lived experience. Join us to contribute to a shared vision: a world where no newborn dies or suffers harm from preventable sepsis.
